The Sky Pirates had a tough challenge ahead in Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir

NXT TakeOver: Phoenix ended with two championship changes. Johnny Gargano finally captured his first big of singles gold, ripping the NXT North American Championship off of Ricochet. The War Raiders also raided the Undisputed Era, taking the NXT Tag Team Titles for themselves.

Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke interfered in the NXT Women's Championship match yet again in Phoenix, allowing Shayna Baszler to walk away with the title still wrapped around her waist. Tonight, the Sky Pirates looked to punish them for their constant interference. Also, we saw tag team action between the Street Profits and the Forgotten Sons, who attacked Dawkins and Ford last week after their match.

The final two members of the Four Horsewomen were vital in keeping the NXT Women's Championship off of Kairi Sane. Now, with Io Shirai by her side, Sane continues to try to get revenge on the deadly duo.

Shafir was sent packing quick by Io Shirai, forcing her to tag in Jessamyn Duke, with Shirai also tagging in Sane. Duke took Sane down immediately, and both competitors traded back and forth, rolling around for some ground and pound offense. Sane made it back to her feet, and nearly pinned Duke with a springboard schoolboy.

Sane tagged in Shirai, and both women buzzed around Duke, dodging her mighty swings before taking her down and knocking her to the outside with a double dropkick. Shirai attempted to continue the assault, but Shafir prevented it, allowing the duo to get back into the match, slowing down the pace. A mat slam from Shafir earned a two count.

Duke tagged in, kicking Shirai in the abdomen while Shafir held her in a neckbreaker position. Shirai tried to force her way into Sane, bud Duke held her in a butterfly stretch, then brought her across the ring with a butterfly suplex.

Shafir tagged in, but Shirai managed to roll under her clothesline, tagging in Sane. Sane took her down with a dragon screw, followed by a neckbreaker. Shafir caught her and sent her into the turnbuckle, but the former champion cut her in half with a spear. Shirai knocked Duke off the apron and launched Sane upward for an elbow drop.

Shirai hit Duke on the outside with a suicide dive while Sane dragged Shafir to her corner for the InSane Elbow Drop and the victory.

Results: Shirai & Sane defeated Duke & Shafir via pinfall.

After the match, Mauro Ranallo, Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuinness recapped the NXT North American Championship match with highlight footage.

The rest of TakeOver was highlighted, including the main event, which saw the ever-dangerous Tommaso Ciampa survive his encounter with Aleister Black, where the Psycho Killer capitalized on an injury to the Dutch Destroyer, putting him away after three Fairytale Endings.

The backstage brawl between Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole, Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, and Aleister Black resulted in a huge announcement during the Royal Rumble Kickoff show. This Sunday, all six men will face off in a six-man tag during Halftime Heat.

It was announced that, among other things, Johnny Gargano would return to NXT when the brand makes their way back to Full Sail University next week.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler) w/Jaxson Ryker

Angelo Dawkins started off the bout with Cutler. While Dawkins quickly tackled Cutler, he immediately tagged out to Blake. The Street Profits took out both of the Sons, sending them outside. Back in the ring, Ford tagged in, and the Profits knocked Blake down with a double shoulder tackle.

A double flapjack to Cutler followed by a clothesline from Ford sent him outside, but the distraction allowed Blake to get back in the match. The Sons kept Ford in the corner, slowing down the pace and mauling their opponent. A double backbreaker from the Sons nearly got the pin as Blake made it back into the match, but Ford kicked out.

Blake brought his knee down across Ford's spine, then locked him down in a headlock on the mat. Ford made it back to his feet, only for Blake to slam him back down. Ford tried to get to Dawkins, but Blake tagged Cutler in. Blake sent Ford into Cutler's knees with a powerbomb, and Cutler followed up with a backbreaker. Ford kicked out.

Blake tagged in but was sent outside by Ford, who also avoided a clothesline from Cutler, causing him to crash and burn. Blake tried to prevent the tag, but Dawkins tagged in, cleaning house.

Fists flew as the powerhouse of the duo ran wild, forcing Cutler outside and dropping Blake with a facebuster. In an impressive feat of athleticism, a vertical leap from Ford sent him into Cutler with a flying tope con hilo. Back inside, the Profits nearly put Blake away with a double team move akin to the Doomsday Device, with Ford dropping Black with a neckbreaker.

Dawkins was pulled outside, and as the ref was distracted, Ryker pulled the ropes down just as Ford was going for a dive, taking him out. Dawkins, infuriated, stared down Ryker and went to confront him. The sons caught Dawkins off guard and brought him inside for their finish.

Results: The Forgotten Sons defeated The Street Profits

In front of a lively Phoenix crowd, the Sons proved why they should never be forgotten.
