Samoa Joe was rehired to work as William Regal’s special enforcer on NXT. Joe had a few face-offs with NXT Superstars, but none provoked him the way Karrion Kross did.

The NXT Champion attacked Joe after a match with Johhny Gargano and choked him out. The Samoan Submission Machine resigned from his job position soon after and announced that he would become an active in-ring competitor again.

At TakeOver 36, Joe will take on Kross for the NXT title. Both men are seen as threatening individuals, and the contest will likely get extremely physical.

WWE has already handed Kross his first loss on the main roster against Jeff Hardy, and it will be up to Samoa Joe to do the same on NXT. The Samoan Submission Machine must lock Kross in the Coquina Clutch after a hard-hitting match. Kross should pass out and lose the title to the former United States Champion.

The angle will give NXT a chance to take the title off Kross without denting his credibility too much, and free him up to move to the main roster.
