Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly wage war at NXT TakeOver in an Unsanctioned Match
The most dominant group in NXT is now dead, and it's all thanks to Adam Cole. The Panama City Playboy turned his back on, not just Kyle O'Reilly, but Roderick Strong as well a few months ago.
Following the break-up, though, we got a pretty great realization about who O'Reilly and Cole really are.
During their sit-down where they signed their contract for this Unsanctioned Match, O'Reilly admitted that he felt he sold his soul to help keep Era in the spotlight, and his conscience weighed heavily on him.
Cole, of course, couldn't care less, as the group only served to keep him at the top of the brand. He felt no guilt about what they'd done since debuting in NXT all the way back in 2017.
Once O'Reilly's hardened soul began to crack, Cole realized that he and the rest of The Undisputed Era had outlived their usefulness. Their brotherhood and three-year reign of terror on NXT? All down the drain.
This is one of the more personal rivalries we've seen in recent years and probably the most heated one since the implosion of DIY.
Kyle O'Reilly has been turned into a main eventer thanks to his phenomenal matches with Finn Balor. However, this is a chance for him to move out from Adam Cole's shadow and solidify himself as a top star in NXT.
Will he be able to put away his former ally tonight? Will Roderick Strong or Bobby Fish make an appearance? It's difficult to call, but it's definitely going to be one of the better matches of the two-night event.
