5 Superstars who can challenge for the Universal title after WrestleMania

When will Strowman be given the belt?
Strowman deserves to be champion

Over the past few years, it has been clear that the WWE are determined to make Roman Reigns the next face of the company and the successor to John Cena. Having said this, it is likely that Reigns will be winning the Universal Title at WrestleMania.

With Brock Lesnar looking set to leave the company after WrestleMania 34, it is likely that Roman Reigns will beat 'The Beast Incarnate' for the title at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. The big question on everyone's minds now will be: "Which other Superstars can challenge for the Universal title after WrestleMania?".

There are many Superstars who deserve a title shot after WrestleMania. Here is a list of five of these Superstars:

#1 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman as champion is just what the WWE needs

Braun Strowman has had an incredible solo run and is perhaps the most popular member of the Wyatt Family at the moment. He is one of the most popular and exciting Superstars to watch in the WWE and has been built up to look like an unstoppable force.

Yet he has never become WWE Universal Champion despite being involved in the title picture on a number of occasions. This is due largely to the WWE's decision to have Reigns dethrone Lesnar at WrestleMania 34. However, it is clear that the WWE universe would love to see Strowman capture the belt.

At the moment Strowman looks to be even more of a force than Lesnar is and has gotten the better of Reigns on numerous occasions.

For the moment Strowman looks set to capture tag-team gold, but the WWE should strongly consider giving him the Universal Title in the foreseeable future.

#2 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe would make an exciting Universal champion

One has to feel that Samoa Joe has been misused by the WWE since he made his debut. He has been involved in several interesting storylines but he has never received a run as champion.

He is not only a superb athlete in the ring but also is amazing on the mic. One thing is for certain - having Samoa Joe as champion would be an exciting and interesting period in the WWE.

Joe is currently sidelined due to an injury. He was in a feud with Reigns for the Intercontinental title before being sidelined. Maybe when he returns, Joe could continue that feud and make his way to the top of the mountain.

#3 Finn Balor

Will Finn Balor thrive or fail in 2018?
Could 2018 be Balor's year?

Another Superstar that the WWE seem to have over-looked is Finn Balor, who was the first-ever Universal Champion.

Balor returned to the WWE in 2017 after suffering an injury which caused him to relinquish the title. Yet, he has never received his rematch for the title, which is something that the WWE do not seem to have any intention of changing.

For the moment, Balor will contest for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania. But somewhere down the line, the WWE should push Balor into being the main event star he truly is and bring him into the title picture.

#4 Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy deserves one more run as champion

Jeff Hardy is one of the most exciting superstars in wrestling today. With Matt Hardy adopting his "Woken" gimmick, there has been a lot of speculation that Jeff Hardy will resume his role of Brother Nero.

Even if that is the case, it would still be intriguing to see what Jeff Hardy can do with a run as Universal Champion, especially if he does adopt his Brother Nero persona.

#5 Cesaro

Despite his popularity, the WWE has never put the belt on Cesaro

Cesaro has grown into an incredibly popular superstar during his time in the WWE. His run with Sheamus as tag-team champion has been a very enjoyable one, and one can only wonder why the Swiss Cyborg has not been given a run with the Universal Championship.

He has put on incredible solid singles matches over the past year, and it is clear that the WWE Universe is huge fans of the man. Cesaro as champion would add a fresh angle to Monday Night Raw, which is something it definitely needs.
