WWE Payback 2017: Rumors you need to know

By all accounts, WWE Payback looks like a filler show, one that did not really need to be there on the WWE calendar and if rumours are to be believed, it’s there mainly to help promote the WWE Network.

The Superstar Shake-Up taking place after a number of Payback’s matches being announced has led to the PPV’s card having a couple of inter-brand title matches which hasn’t helped the build-up at all.

As far as Rumours for Payback are concerned, we have gotten a couple of conflicting reports. On the face of it, Payback looks like one of the most predictable PPV’s in recent memory. Not to mention that there’s no sign of Brock Lesnar or the WWE Universal Championship. Great booking WWE.

Chris Jericho to lose and leave RAW?

We have had conflicting rumours about the Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens match.

Rumours surfaced yesterday that Jericho this Monday’s RAW will be Jericho’s last on his current WWE run. His band Fozzy’s tour starts on 5th May and all this almost certainly indicated that Kevin Owens would retain the United States Championship.

However, a recent shift in betting odds released by WWELeaks.org shows the Jericho is a -1200 favourite to go over Kevin Owens tonight.

House of Horrors match to be partially pre-taped

As of now, WWE has not given us any details of what the hell a ‘House of Horrors’ match is. Is it in some kind of structure? Is it Falls Count Anywhere?

According to Dave Meltzer, the House of Horrors match could be partially pre-taped. The first part of the match could take part in some kind of haunted house location before ending up inside the ring. The beginning will be something like the compound segment between New Day and the Wyatt Family.

Speaking of the House of Horrors match…

Jinder Mahal to help Bray Wyatt win?

Last week on SmackDown Live, Jinder Mahal went from a jobber to #1 contender as he pinned Sami Zayn to win the chance to challenge Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.

He attacked Orton earlier this week on SmackDown Live, and with a little help from the Singh Brothers, he stole the WWE Championship belt and left with it.

Tonight’s House of Horrors match will be the final chapter of a long feud between Orton and Wyatt. The match was quietly changed to a non-title match and that has led to speculation that Bray Wyatt may go over tonight.

As things stand, Mahal may play a role in helping Bray go over while also furthering his feud with Orton.

Braun Strowman to win clean?

Could Braun Strowman challenge Brock Lesnar after he’s done with Roman Reigns?

If recent reports are to be believed, Braun Strowman is being pushed for a big money summer match up with Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. With that in mind, Strowman hammered Roman Reigns a couple of weeks ago on RAW and that has led to their match tonight.

It was earlier rumoured that this match could be a Stretcher Match but as of now, no stipulation has been announced. Roman has been off WWE television since Braun tipped over the ambulance he was in. This will also be Roman’s first appearance since his brother Rosey passed away.

Although Vince could always decide to put Roman over at the last minute, as of now it looks like Strowman will win.
