WWE RAW was live from Des Moines, Iowa and looked like a modified re-run of last week’s RAW. Big Show now has a huge role in the corporation storyline which is both good and bad. Cody Rhodes got fired and then delivered a great emotional and compelling backstage farewell promo. The Divas division is starting to look interesting and a few more developments leading us to what will be a great Night of Champions card.
However, the show apart from its top moments managed to deliver its fair share of ‘not so good’ moments which we, like to call the flops of the show. Here are the flops of this week’s episode of RAW.
1. Big Show cannot stop crying
This week we saw Big Show being bullied by Triple H and Stephanie as they forced him to go up against Bryan and knock him out. But it wasn’t even close to being as annoying as Big Show crying. Big Show looked frustrated about having to sit there and watch all the happenings last week and I was expecting something on similar lines this week too. Rather than making him cry, WWE should have made Big Show look angry about recent events and frustrated that he isn’t able to do anything about it. Big Show after a week or two could have said he has had enough and knocked out one of the members of the Shield to set up a match between them. Making him cry like a baby with Triple H and Stephanie bullying a 7 foot monster was quite clearly the biggest flop of the show.
2. The Miz vs Fandango
Except for Summer Rae, I felt this match had nothing impressive. Maybe, Fandango’s broken nose got some attention but other than that the match pretty much looked stale. The positives however, were that Fandango didn’t count himself out and Miz didn’t make an entrance with Rosa Mendez impersonating Fandango. The match ended with an awkward Figure Four which was a disrespect to that move. Frankly, WWE should have found someone better to pass on this move as the Miz clearly looks out of sort trying to connect it. The feud looks watchable at the moment but with more matches like this we can can expect the two to disappoint at Night of Champions.
3. Damien Sandow loses again
Money in the Bank winner, Damien Sandow is having the worst phase of his life yet. Losing matches week after week which is hugely affecting his already dead momentum. Sandow badly needs a win irrespective of how he gets it. WWE needs to start making Sandow cheat his way to win a few matches just to make him look like a threat to the World Title. With Rhodes gone for now, Sandow will find it extremely difficult to manage especially if his losing streak continues.
4. Triple H and Randy Orton opening segment
Last week’s RAW saw Triple H and Orton start the show with a great segment as the Hunter looked great portraying himself as the corporate heel. This week WWE tried to repeat the same and failed miserably. Orton in particular looked dull on the mic. Triple H too didn’t manage to recreate his previous week’s performance. My feeling is that Vince has let Triple H take over the corporate storyline and asked him to do something interesting with it and there is a steady decrease in the interest levels of fans already. The corporate storyline is getting stale already and its high time WWE ended the show in a different way.
