This week's episode of WWE Raw on the 21st of January, 2019, is set to be one of the most important episodes of Raw in the new year. The go-home show for the WWE Royal Rumble will see quite a few storylines build up the feuds to the first pay-per-view of the year.
Last week, we saw Finn Balor replace Braun Strowman as the Number 1 Contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Title. He will try to establish himself as a worthy contender when he addresses the crowd this week. There might even be an appearance from the Beast himself. While Balor will be busy with establishing himself, Braun Strowman will look to gain back lost ground and find himself a match for the Royal Rumble.
This week will also see Sasha Banks team up with Bayley to take on her Royal Rumble opponent, Ronda Rousey, who is teaming up with Natalya. The two will face each other in a tag team match. Last week also saw Bobby Lashley become the Intercontinental Champion. At least two Superstars will be unhappy about that, as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose will both likely try to get the Championship back.
Finally, the new call-ups from NXT will continue to make their presence known on WWE Raw, as they show up on both shows until they are signed on one.
