Coronation of Alexa Bliss

RAW kicked off with the women’s roster in the middle of the ring as they waited for new champion Alexa Bliss. Alexa came out and thanked the women in the ring for being there at here coronation, even though Kurt Angle had forced some of them to come out at here behest.

Alexa first thanked Mickie James, who she had brought to SmackDown Live. She sarcastically thanked Mickie for inspiring her every day even though her contemporaries Mae Young and The Fabulous Moolah were “in a better place”.

Alexa then turned to Sasha Banks whom she said she’d already beaten to get where she is. She finally turned to Bayley, who she had beaten the night before. She sarcastically said she was sorry that Bayley’s dad and the rest of her family and friends who had to see her get humiliated the night before. Unable to take Alexa’s taunting anymore, Bayley attacked her as the situation in the ring broke down as we faded to commercial.

Alexa Bliss, Emma, Nia Jax and Alicia Fox vs Bayley, Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Dana Brooke

Alexa and Bayley started us off. They soon tagged in Emma and Mickie James respectively. Mickie James hit Emma with a couple of nice kicks to the midsection before they tagged in Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke. Dana hit a handspring elbow in the corner followed by a twisting splash before tagging Sasha Banks in.

Sasha helped work on Alicia Fox’s arm before rotating the tag as the babyfaces isolated Alicia Fox. Sasha was tagged back in by Mickie James as the babyfaces cut the ring in half. Sasha it Fox with a double knees before Fox replied with kick to the gut before tossing Sasha out of the ring. The eight women then faced off at ringside as we cut to a commercial.

We came back after commercial to see Alicia Fox in control of Sasha Banks. Alicia tagged in Nia Jax who clotheslined Sasha in the corner before tossing her across the ring by the hair. She followed it up with an elbow drop. The fans willed Sasha on to get back to her feet but Jax locked in a headlock before depositing Sasha in the corner and tagging Alexa back in.

Alexa went for the double knees but Sasha dodged it and tagged Bayley in.

Bayley was all over Alexa and sent her face-first into the corner turnbuckle before hitting a stunner with the help of the ropes. Bayley followed it up with a back suplex but Nia Jax broke up the count. Jax was sent packing out of the ring after which Mickie James hit her with a crossbody from the top rope.

As the situation broke down, Bayley and Alexa were the only women left in the ring. She raked Bayley’s eyes before hitting her with a DDT and pinning her.

Enzo Amore vs Luke Gallows

As Enzo and Cass were in the middle of cutting their promo, Anderson and Gallows attacked them from behind. The ‘realest guys in the room’ got the better of Anderson and Gallows though, and they were sent scampering before the match could finally begin.

Gallows was in control as soon as the match began. Gallows hit a big boot before stomping Enzo. Enzo then completely missed a dropkick before Gallows locked in a side-armbar. Gallows then continued to boot Enzo in the corner before Enzo threw lefts and rights in a desperate attempt to fight back.

Gallows swiftly took Enzo down before locking in another armbar. Enzo finally took control briefly after a series of punches and kicks before he reversed a vertical suplex into a roll-up for a 2-count. Anderson then distracted Enzo to help Gallows plant Enzo on the mat and pin him.

Seth Rollins addresses the WWE Universe

Seth Rollins came out and thanked the fans for being with him for the last 6 months. He told the fans that he looked in the mirror and realized that he’s still Seth Rollins and everything came full circle in the last month – he slayed the King of Kings before beating Samoa Joe.

He then said that there was one thing left for him to do and he wanted to face the ‘beast’ – Brock Lesnar. He then added that he’d been to suplex city and he wasn’t afraid to go back.

Finn Balor’s music hit. Balor came out and told Rollins that he beat him with one of his shoulders injured and asked Rollins to get in line behind him. The two of them came nose to nose as Dean Ambrose’s music hit. The IC Champion came out and said he was ready to fight anytime and anywhere when The Miz’s music hit.

Miz came out and called Ambrose an impostor before demanding his IC title back. He said that he defended the IC title on a nightly basis when he had been the champion but Ambrose didn’t even defend his title at Payback. Miz then said the reason everyone hated him was because he was the biggest threat on WWE RAW at which point the others asked him to shut up.

Dean then took out his phone and called Kurt Angle before announcing that Balor, Miz and Rollins would fight it out to see who would become #1 contender for the IC Championship later in the night.

Tony Nese, Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar vs Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa and Jack Gallagher

Jack Gallagher came out with three umbrellas before the match started, one for himself and each of his teammates.

Kendrick and Tozawa started us off. They traded right hands and Kendrick came out on top. Nese came in at this point and blindsided Tozawa. Swann and Dar got tagged in after this and Gallagher soon tagged himself in off the Irish Whip. The faces dumped the heels out of the ring as we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see the heels isolate Akira Tozawa before he finally tagged in Rich Swann. Swann came in and flattened Kendrick with clotheslines before hitting a somersault legdrop. He then hit a rolling thunder before tagging in Gallagher who hit a headbutt for the nearfall.

Kendrick blindsided Gallagher and looked to get him to tap but Tozawa came in and hit him with a shining wizard. Swann and Tozawa then hit Nese and Dar with suicide dives as Gallagher hit Brian Kendrick with a running dropkick for the win.

Sheamus and Cesaro explain their heel turn

Sheamus came out and explained how he had never liked the fans. Cesaro then added that the fans were always obsessed with the past and the future and they were obsessed with shiny new trinkets.

Sheamus added that he and Cesaro were ready to win the titles at WrestleMania but the Hardys came at the last moment and stole their titles. He finished off by saying that they were coming for the titles.

As Cesaro and Sheamus were about to leave, the Hardys music hit. Matt and Jeff threatened to “DELETE” Sheamus and Cesaro and they charged down to the ring. Cesaro and Sheamus left the ring to fight another day.

This rivalry won’t be over anytime soon.

Heath Slater vs Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews was led to the ring by his new ‘mentor’ Titus O’ Neal. Former SmackDown Tag-Team Champion made his in-ring RAW debut for the first time since his transfer during the Superstar Shake-Up.

Crews looked really good in the opening stages as he showed a speed and strength advantage over his opponent. Slater hit an early armdrag but it didn’t affect Crews who hit one of his own. Crews then hit a couple of kicks followed by a running clothesline.

Crews followed it up with a kip up before hitting the Spin-out Powerbomb for the win.

Kurt Angle addresses the WWE Universe

Kurt Angle came down the ramp and said that the match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman had left both men hurt – Reigns hurt his ribs again and Strowman tore his rotator cuff.

At this point Bray Wyatt’s music hit and he came down to the ring. He told Kurt Angle that they hadn’t been formally introduced before saying that he’d finally closed the chapter on Randy Orton. He then asked Angle if he would walk by his side or stand in his way.

Angle replied that RAW was his show to which Bray just laughed and replied that this was his world.

Austin Aries vs TJ Perkins

Austin Aries was completely in control during the early stages of the match. Still reeling from his loss to Neville at Payback, Aries took the fight to TJP during the early stages and was largely in control till he made a mistake. Aries charged into the corner and TJP dodged him causing Aries to get hung up in the corner.

TJP took advantage and hit him with a running dropkick as we headed to commercial.

After the break, Aries eventually fights back but falls when he is whipped into the corner which Micheal claims is because of his knee. He attempts a spear but misses and TJP works his knee in the corner. As he attempts to hurt his knee with the ring post AA gets his feet out of harm's way, sending TJ into the ring post from the outside. Aries then follows it up with a suicide dive through the ropes.

A few chest slaps, gut buster and pendulum elbow give AA momentum. He then dives from the top rope and connects with an elbow to the back of the neck.

Aries then countered a detonation kick into a Last Chancery for the win.

As Aries celebrates the win TJ ambushes him from behind and attacks his knee with a knee bar.

Finn Balor vs The Miz vs Seth Rollins (#1 contender’s match for the Intercontinental championship)

The Miz exited the ring as soon as the match began, leaving Balor and Rollins to go at it. Miz sporadically tried to re-enter the ring as Balor and Rollins locked up eventually drawing the ire of Balor and Rollins who followed I’m out and forced him to get back in the ring but there was no escape.

Miz tried to plead with the but they double teamed him before Rollins cheekily rolled up Balor for a 2-count. Rollins then looked for a sunset flip roll but Balor hit him with a dropkick before working on him in the corner. Balor dodged an incoming Rollins and hit him with an enzeguiri before Miz swept his feet out from under him.

Miz then used Maryse as a shield as Rollins went for a suicide dive. He then used her as a shield as Balor came in. Rollins used this moment to launch himself at Miz.

The action then headed into the ring as we headed to commercial.

We came back from commercial to see Miz all over Balor while Rollins was down at ringside. Balor fought his way out of the headlock he was in as Rollins got back into the ring. Rollins dived at Balor from the top rope and looked to land awkwardly on his shoulder as Balor countered his move.

With Balor and Rollins on their knees, Miz hit the Daniel Bryan kicks but missed the last one which Balor dodged and pushed Miz towards Rollins who hit him with a DDT.

Balor then hit Miz and Rollins with knife-edged chops in the corner before hitting Miz with an enzeguiri and sending him crashing out of the ring. He then clotheslined Rollins out of the ring. Balor followed it up with a PK to Miz which he followed up with a dropkick to Rollins.

Back in the ring, Balor hit Rollins with the 1916 only for Miz to break the count up at 2 and a half. Balor then hit Rollins with a slingblade as he looked to set up his finish. Miz grabbed Balor’s foot from the outside and rammed it into the ringpost before locking in a Figure Four on Rollins.

Balor broke up the submission hold before hitting Rollins with a Pelle Kick. Rollins replied with a Superkick for the nearfall. Rollins then hit a double blockbuster from the middle rope before hitting Balor with a Frog Splash for another nearfall.

Rollins then hit Miz with the Superplex transitioned into the Falcon Arrow. Miz somehow managed o kick out of it as Seth Rollins followed it up with a double suicide dive. Samoa Joe came out of nowhere at this point and hit Rollins with an Uranage Slam at ringside.

Balor capitalized and hit Miz with a slingblade before heading to the top rope. The lights went out and Bray Wyatt appeared and pushed Balor off the top rope and hit him with a Sister Abigail before disappearing.

Miz somehow crawled over to Balor and pinned him to steal the win.
