Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe (No.1 Contender’s Match for The Universal Title)
Both men make their entrances as the commentators focus on the fact that Reigns has been unable to beat Joe in the three encounters the two have had. It was a big fight feel as Michael Cole mentioned and the bout kicked off with both men jockeying for position.
Joe was top of Reigns as RAW returned from the commercial break as he clotheslined the Big Dog and connected with the enziguiri in the corner. Joe shot down Reigns' attempts of assuming control of the match with a couple of slaps to the back. Joe slowed the pace of the match and started working on Reigns’ neck by twisting the latter's neck. Reigns somehow got to one knee, but Joe had him scouted and hit a perfect suplex for a 2-count.

Joe continued the onslaught on Reigns’ neck before Reigns got some relief with a flying clothesline that yielded him a near fall. Reigns began sizing up Joe for a superman punch, but Joe was well aware of his surroundings and rolled out of the ring. Reigns followed him and both men collided outside the ring, and as a result, were laid out at ringside as Raw went to another commercial.
Back from the commercial again, Reigns got a nearfall with a Samoan Drop and a well-timed big boot to the face of Joe. Joe, though, wasn’t ready to give up just yet as he took Reigns out with a Senton. Another near fall! This was enough for this is awesome chants to break out.
Reigns the caught Joe off guard and hit the Superman Punch out of nowhere. 1-2...kickout!
Just when you expected the match to have a conclusive ending, out came Braun Strowman to interrupt the proceedings. Strowman marched towards the ring as Reigns looked on in pure shock as he didn’t expect The Monster Among Men to return after the near-death-experience at Great Balls of Fire.
Strowman first attacked Joe at ringside before shifting his attention to Reigns. Reigns hit Strowman with a right hand and then a boot; Strowman fought back and threw Reigns into the barricade and then into the ring like a ragdoll.
Samoa Joe and Strowman saw eye-to-eye, before going at it , Joe tried to push Strowman, but the Monster Among Men clotheslined him; Strowman got into the ring and tortured Reigns and then toyed with Joe.
Reigns fought back with a right hand. Joe climbed up the ring and caught Strowman with a Coquina Clutch. Reigns hit Strowman with a Superman Punch. The big man was down, and Reigns tried to take advantage but Strowman catches Reigns in the air and hit a spine buster. ‘This is Awesome’ reverberated around the arena!
Strowman looked to leave the ring but returned and grabbed Reigns. Security had arrived to the ring to stop Strowman but he was not paying heed to anyone. Strowman left the ring leaving the corpses of Reigns and Joe, and at the same time, sending a strong message to Brock Lesnar.
The title picture just got brutally inetersting. Who will face Lesnar at Summerslam? Did you like this week’s RAW and are you happy with Kurt Angle’s revelation?
