Believe it or not, but former WWE superstar Rey Mysterio lost his DDT Pro Ironman championship while he was, well, sleeping. Rey lost the championship to Joey Ryan who posted the following video of himself pinning Rey on his twitter account announcing his victory-
Actually, the DDT Pro Championship (Also known as the Iron Man heavyweight Championship) is one of the championships which is owned by the Dramatic Dream Team (DDT), a small wrestling promotion. It's considered as a joke of a wrestling title by many.
The title is defended on 24/7 rule. Meaning that it can be defended literary anywhere and anytime. It has no time or place restrictions and the match doesn't even need to happen in a wrestling ring. The only rule for defending the championship is that a DDT official should be present there.
Due to the chaotic nature of this 24/7 rule, more than 1000 people have won this championship till now despite the fact that it only debuted back in 2000. The list of former champions include the likes of current NXT Women’s Champion Asuka, A miniature Dachshund, NJPW's booker Jado, and even Yoshihiko, who was an inanimate dummy.
Another fun fact is that Rey won this championship just 3 days ago by pinning the same Joey Ryan who has now exacted his revenge, it would seem.
