WWE News: WWE Roadblock Announced for 16th December

Roadblock would be exclusive to the RAW brand by the looks of it

After making its debut at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in March 2016 — WWE have scheduled to bring Roadblock back in December 2016 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Roadblock which happened in March acted as the “Road to Wrestlemania” for the biggest wrestling event in sports entertainment history. The event had a stacked card including Triple H vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, with Triple H coming out as the winner.

It also held an NXT Tag-Title match with Enzo Amore and Big Cass going off against Dash and Dawson also popularly known as The Revival. Before they debuted on the Raw after Wrestlemania, Roadblock was Enzo and Big Cass’ debut at a major PPV.

The New Day faced the now defunct League of Nations, and also, The Beast Brock Lesnar faced the Wyatt Family in a Handicap match.

The news about this event had already leaked out way back when the list containing dates and information about all upcoming PPV’s was leaked weeks before the brand split. The said list also mentioned the return of PPV’s like Backlash, which will be exclusive for Smackdown Live, and the re-emergence of a WCW PPV titled Clash of Champions which will be exclusive for Monday Night Raw.

The said leaked list states that Roadblock will be brand exclusive and will belong to Monday Night Raw. Considering that the last Roadblock was nothing more than just a televised house show, WWE might introduce this PPV in a grander and sophisticated way as they’ve now decided to use it as a full-blown PPV.

The Console Energy Centre, who are this year's host for Roadblock announced the news through their twitter account. WWE Roadblock is scheduled to take place on 18th December 2016.
