What's the story?

Cody Recently replied to a question he was asked on Twitter inquiring if Vince McMahon holds back talent coming up from NXT, to which he responded that such is not the case and it is usually the talent's fault and not that of Vince.

Here is the tweet:

In case you didn't know...

Cody Rhodes was a part of the WWE from 2007-2016 winning various championships such as the Intercontinental Championship and Tag Team Championship during the process. In his 9 year career with the WWE, he was never able to capture the World Championship though.

Cody left WWE in 2016, earlier stating that it was due to creative differences and he wanted to go out and make opportunities for himself.

Cody joined Impact Wrestling for a brief period of time but it was in ROH/NJPW that he made a major name for himself. Cody is now a former one time ROH World Champion and has had a highly successful run in NJPW as part of the Bullet Club faction.

The heart of the matter

Cody left WWE on a good note and as can be seen from his tweets, holds no grudges against the company. He also mentions the reason why some of the fan-favourites in NXT do not get pushed on the main roster.

It is a breath of fresh air to see an ex-WWE employee taking the blame instead of whining about how he/she had to face unfairness.

What's next?

Cody is involved in a feud with his former Bullet Club stablemate Kenny Omega and both these talented stars are set to face each other at ROH Supercard of Honor 12 at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, April 7.

Author's take

Although it initially seemed that Cody has some gripes with WWE, it now looks like Cody has put all that in the past and has accepted his own mistakes whilst he was in the WWE. Who knows, maybe we will see Cody back in WWE sooner than we think!
