WWE Royal Rumble 2019: 5 Things that shouldn't happen

Finn Balor will face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble
Finn Balor will face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble

This week, on Raw and Smackdown Live, WWE did the final buildup for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The match card of the show is filled with many great matches. Even the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar is going to defend his title against Finn Balor.

We all know that the Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated events in the history of the WWE and the company will their best to make it awesome. However, there's a chance that they could still make some worst booking decisions. Now, nobody knows what exactly will they be but at least, I could predict some.

So, without further ado, let's take a look at the five things that should not happen at the Royal Rumble.

#5 Seth Rollins doesn't win the Royal Rumble match

Rollins gonna win this match?
Rollins gonna win this match?

Rollins is a great in-ring performer in the WWE, and I agree with that. There have been rumours that the company is planning to give him the Rumble victory this year. It's obvious why the WWE will want to take this decision. Roman Reigns is currently on a hiatus because of Leukemia, and he isn't going to return anytime soon.

So, till that time, Rollins is the only superstar that could fill Reigns' spot in the company. Fans would also be happy with this decision. I have talked about why Rollins shouldn't win the Royal Rumble in my previous articles but to be honest, his victory wouldn't do any harm to the company. So it's highly likely that the WWE could make him the winner of this Royal Rumble but what if they didn’t do this?

I mean, there are many other wrestlers who could get benefit by this win, but on the other hand, WWE could possibly create a riot if they let any other non-fan favorite superstar take the victory.

#4 Brock Lesnar retains the Universal Championship

The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar doesn’t work on a lot of shows. Still, he is the WWE Universal Champion. He won the title last year at the Crown Jewel PPV by defeating Braun Strowman, and this didn't please the WWE Universe.

WWE has recently announced a change in their product, and the Royal Rumble would be a great place to implement what they said. If Lesnar loses his championship against Finn Balor, then not only the fans would be happy, but Balor's career would also get brighter.

However, the company may not think like this. It is possible that they will not let Lesnar lose his title at least until WrestleMania 35. It's true that he is a part-timer and the fans don’t like his title reign, but we can't deny the fact that he's still WWE's biggest draw.

Although this is all true, the fans don’t care about this because they just want to see a new 'full-time' World Champion. And I don't really have to say that if Balor defeated Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, it would make his career.

#3 Finn Balor gets squashed

Balor could defeat Brock Lesnar

Even if Lesnar is going to retain his championship at the Royal Rumble, he should get a squash victory on Finn Balor. It would only do harm to him and his growing momentum.

Balor has been getting some push from the past few weeks, and I really hope that this would not stop anytime soon. He is one of the best in-ring performers in the WWE right now but, the company hasn’t done anything fair to him. Yes, he is the first ever Universal Champion but his reign didn’t last longer than a day.

He never really got the same kind of push after returning from the injury, and if he would lose against Brock Lesnar at the upcoming pay-per-view in a squash match, then the situation will get worse for him.

I know not everyone could defeat Lesnar, but at least Balor could lose after providing a high-profile match. It is also possible because Lesnar works really well with smaller opponents.

#2 The Miz and Shane McMahon become the new SD Tag Team Champions

They should not win the titles
They should not win the titles

A few weeks ago, Shane McMahon accepted The Miz's offer to become his tag team partner. Then, Miz challenge Sheamus and Cesaro for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship at the Royal Rumble.

Now Miz and Shane will be facing The Bar for the tag titles, but it would be bad if we saw a titles change here. The Bar is doing great in the tag team division, and there is no need for the titles to change hands.

First of all, Shane McMahon isn't a wrestler, and he can't provide high profile matches in the WWE but on the other hand, Miz's work as a heel was much better than as his now work.

It would be much better if the WWE separates the duo and focus on Miz's singles career instead.

#1 Becky Lynch doesn't win the women's Royal Rumble match

Lynch should win the Royal Rumble match
Lynch should win the Royal Rumble match

Becky Lynch is currently the likeliest superstar to win this year's women's Royal Rumble match. Even though she will be facing Asuka for the Smackdown Women's Championship, she could just lose the match and then win the women's Rumble match.

There's a solid reason why this could happen. Her match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series didn’t happen because of Nia Jax, and this is why the fans were angry. However, now the company has a chance to make this happen by letting Lynch win the Royal Rumble match.

This way she can challenge Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Championship at the WrestleMania. But, there's still space where the company could mess things up.

Even though Lynch is favourite to win this match, WWE might have a different plan. So it's possible that any other superstar could win this match. However, the chances of this happening are low, and that's good news for us.
