Ronda Rousey stepped up to her toughest challenger to date at the 2019 Royal Rumble as she took on Sasha Banks for the Raw Women's Championship.

The tension between these two women boiled over before the bell even rang as the two women finally came face to face for the first time since Rousey's first official loss on Monday Night Raw. Rousey looked to end the match quickly but Banks had it well scouted and reversed into an arm drag.

Rousey then mocked Banks before looking for the three Amigos, but Banks reversed and looked for the backstabber before Rousey reversed and once again looked for the armbar.

The two women took the fight outside the ring but Rousey connected with the ring post when The Boss moved out the way of a stiff right hand.

Ronda tried to look for the upper hand off a hip toss but Banks delivered a thunderous kick in the corner followed by a number of strikes to the back and face. Banks went for the double knees but Rousey moved and rolled through to look for Piper's Pit but Banks reversed and locked in an armbar of her own.

The Boss then transitioned into the Bank Statement, bit Banks was forced to break the hold and Rousey was able to take advantage and deliver Piper's Pit. Ronda then took advantage of the five count on the outside as she locked in a submission over the ropes, but the damage to her arm was clear.

Banks then delivered a stunning Superplex from the top rope, but was only able to secure a two count so The Boss locked in the body scissors and looked to work the injured arm of the former UFC Champion.

Rousey was able to power out and slam Banks to the mat before delivering over the head tosses to warm up for her armbar but was thrown to the outside. Banks went for the suicide Dive but was caught by Rousey and locked in the armbar on the outside. Banks tapped but it was on the outside.

Banks sent Rousey into the bottom turnbuckle before continuing to work the injured arm, she was then looking for the backstabber, but Rousey looked for the armbar once again. The Boss managed to once again lock in the Bank Statement, once again in the center of the ring and Rousey was forced to crawl to the bottom rope but Banks prevented this and rolled her up for a near fall.

Banks locked in an armbar of her own and manipulated the fingertips, but Rousey countered and slammed Banks followed by Piper's Pit to pick up the victory and retain her Championship.
