#4. Was the women’s Royal Rumble match underwhelming?

This year, the women’s Royal Rumble match was expected to be a big one. WWE announced several legends and Hall of Famers to increase the hype for the contest.

Lita and Charlotte Flair had a good exchange on an episode of SmackDown before the Premium Live Event. Sasha Banks kicked off the contest with Melina.

However, things did not go too well, as most of the legends were quickly eliminated. Ronda Rousey ended up being the biggest surprise in the match and sent five superstars over the rope to make a big statement.

Did the women’s Royal Rumble match disappoint this year? Did the creative team fail to build some great moments and give a push to rising stars in the match?

Nearly half the women in the match were either retired or inactive. They simply made the return for a one-off match.

WWE could have done much better by giving some NXT Superstars a run in the match. The creative team could have also built a rising star throughout the contest without changing the result.
