WWE Rumours: Cesaro expresses frustration over current situation

The Swiss Superman has been in a start-stop position for 2 years now

Cesaro is without a doubt one of the fan favourites, and it has been even more so since last year, especially after his matches with John Cena that really put him on the map in the eyes of the fans. In fact, they were so charmed with Cesaro’s performances in the ring that “The Cesaro Section” was created, something that still exists even today.

It’s not that fans were ignorant of how skilled Cesaro is; it’s just that last year he had more opportunities to shine. In 2014 as well, it appeared that the WWE officials were finally backing The Swiss Superman after he won The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 30, and then the next night on Raw, he was paired with Paul Heyman, but their association quickly ended.

Last year was surely the best year of Cesaro’s career as he was prominently featured. He was the tag team champion with Tyson Kidd, and their association sadly had to end due to Tyson Kidd’s horrific career ending injury. As sad as it is to say, he benefited, as he shot up as a singles star, featuring in John Cena’s United States Championship Open Challenges.

He had a great deal of momentum running but was unfortunately injured in November, requiring shoulder surgery. He returned on the Raw after Wrestlemania 32, coming in with a new “007” character, which he is often attributed to by the fans.

Cesaro is currently in the midst of a feud with Sheamus. He beat Sheamus on two consecutive episodes of Raw, and after they started costing each other matches, Raw General Manager Mick Foley stated that they would have a Best-of-Seven series, with the first one starting at Summerslam, which took place on the Kickoff show.

In the video below, taken backstage at tonight's Raw, Cesaro expresses some frustration to Andrea D'Marco about being on the SummerSlam Kickoff and then losing. He's also unhappy about not being included in the series of matches that will determine the next WWE Universal Champion, despite having a Best of 7 series going on with Sheamus.

Instead of standing in the ring in front of the whole Cesaro section, doing what he loves and lives for, he was backstage watching. The second match in the Best of 7 Series between Sheamus and Cesaro will take place next week in Houston.
