What's the story?
According to Mike Johnson on PWInsider Elite, there's backstage talk of Alexa Bliss becoming the next RAW General Manager, thus replacing acting RAW GM Baron Corbin and Kurt Angle as well.
In case you didn't know...
For a few months now, Baron Corbin has been the acting General Manager of RAW, replacing Kurt Angle temporarily. However, Baron Corbin has a make or break match at TLC, where he'll be facing Braun Strowman in a TLC match. The stipulation of the match is this: If Braun Strowman wins, he gets a Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
However, if Baron Corbin wins, he then becomes permanent RAW GM. Replacing Kurt Angle. As for Alexa Bliss, she's been in the shelf for a while now, reportedly having dealt with multiple concussions in a short span of time. She does appear on-screen weekly but doesn't wrestle as she hasn't been cleared.
The heart of the matter
Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that Alexa Bliss went through some medical testing in Los Angeles for Survivor Series weekend. He said that while it's definitely no Paige situation, there's still no clearcut answer as to when she'll be back in the ring. He then continued (H/T Ringside News):
They’ll probably still keep testing her. There was some expectation backstage at Raw that when they come out of TLC Alexa Bliss will probably end up the General Manager of Raw which makes sense when you think about it but given how they change ideas so quickly I don’t know that definitely 100% the plan.
It definitely makes sense for Alexa Bliss to become the RAW GM temporarily. WWE is very sensitive with concussions (and rightfully so), so they're likely to keep her away from the ring even after she does get cleared (for a while atleast).
What's next?
Alexa Bliss and WWE are going to hope that she gets medically cleared soon. The good thing is that she fits right into the role of GM, so it would be refreshing to see a new face in the role for a change.
