It's a new year, yes it is! But the rumor mill is still the same and has a lot of fascinating stuff today! In today's rumor roundup, we take a look at the shocking reason why Bobby Lashley returned to WWE, backstage plans for Becky Lynch at Royal Rumble, the former Superstar Corey Graves wants back in WWE and more!

But before we get to that, we take a look at the two big headline-makers of the day:

RAW Superstar to make a stunning in-ring return

Lana has confirmed that she will be returning to the ring this year. She last performed in the ring back in April and has been on and off TV for the past 8 months. Talking to TV Insider, she said:

"The crazy thing was returning to TV and Bobby, it was for the season premiere of Monday Night Raw. That was one of the things in my 10 goals is to be something on Raw or Smackdown and impacting people and giving people something to talk about. To see that, literally, my wildest dreams come true, it's mind-blowing. I'm so thankful. I'm making my goals and dreams for the next year, and the sky's the limit. Yes, I will be getting back in the ring. Anything can happen, it's WWE. I'd love to be champion — why not?" [H/T: TV Insider]

Lana is involved in a storyline with Rusev and Lashley, with Liv Morgan recently entering the mix too. Will we be seeing Lana vs Liv Morgan soon?

Major WrestleMania 36 update

WWE usually start dropping hints about WrestleMania at the start of the calendar year but that is not the case this time around. There have been rumors doing the rounds but none are concrete.

WrestleVotes are now reporting that there is no talks of WrestleMania plans backstage right now and WWE are keeping multiple options open at this time!

Booker T wants to manage The Street Profits

Booker T has hinted that he could be managing The Street Profits on Monday Night RAW soon. The Hall of Famer dropped the hint on WWE Backstage this week before saying that he wants to do it later this year. He said:

“You know, since I am a tag team extraordinaire, tag team specialist, fourteen Tag Team Championships throughout my reign in this business. I’m looking forward to the tag team division getting crunk in 2020. And I might even manage The Street Profits somewhere along the year.”

The Street Profits have been doing well on the main roster ever since they came up and are now in the title picture as well. They face The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) and The OC (Luka Gallows and Karl Anderson) in a triple-threat match on Monday Night RAW next week for the RAW tag-team titles.

Becky Lynch will not be involved in the Rumble this year

Becky Lynch's heroics last year in the Royal Rumble were what helped her get over with the WWE Universe. She was the SmackDown champion at the time and battled Asuka in a singles match before going on to enter the Rumble and winning it despite her injury later in the show.

This year, she is facing Asuka again but Cageside Seats report that she is not expected to be a part of the Rumble.

Unlike last year, when she worked double duty, Becky Lynch isn’t expected to wrestle in the Royal Rumble this year.

Becky lost the title to Asuka (currently tag-team champion) last year and is looking to get revenge this time around. She's put her RAW Women's Championship on the line this year and is desperate to beat Asuka in a singles match.

Jon Moxley, fka Dean Ambrose, left WWE back in 2019 and made his way to All Elite Wrestling. He has also been working with NJPW and has been enjoying his time in various promotions.

Corey Graves, just like every WWE fan, hopes to see the former WWE Champion return to the company in the future. On WWE's After The Bell podcast, he revealed that he keeps in touch with the former WWE star and thinks the Lunatic Fridge needs to come back at some point in the future. He said:

“I hope so. I respect the hell out of what Jon’s doing. He’s happy, I still keep in touch with him, even though that’s against all the rules, and I think this is all part of his journey. But, ultimately, I think The Lunatic Fringe needs to come back home at some point in the future.”

Never say never in wrestling.

Bobby Lashley reveals why he returned to WWE

Bobby Lashley has been involved in a lot of storylines since he made his return but has not come close to achieving his ultimate goal in WWE. He has revealed that he only returned to face Brock Lesnar in a match and is still working on it.

He is fine being a part of any storyline as long as he is able to get in the ring with the WWE Champion at the end. He said:

“I’m just doing whatever I need to do to get to that match - whether it’s singing, bringing my sisters on or playing that nonsense. They’ve held me back this long and I don’t know if it’s a point of paying dues here. I don’t care what it is, I’m going to get that match.”

Lashley is currently involved in a storyline with Rusev and Lana with Liv Morgan joining in last week.
