I’ve decided to retire from in ring wrestling. When I started at 13 I thought I’d retire at 40. But smart investments overtime have allowed me to be done now. I’m in my prime, and that will go towards my family and being a father. Thanks to the fans who stuck by me. 🤟
Former WWE superstar Ken Doane, better known as Kenny Dykstra of The Spirit Squad, has announced his retirement from in-ring competition. In a heartfelt post on Twitter, the former WWE Tag Team Champion stated that while he had always thought of retiring at the age of 40, the time has come for him to hang up his boots. Dykstra explained:
''I’ve decided to retire from in ring wrestling. When I started at 13 I thought I’d retire at 40. But smart investments overtime have allowed me to be done now. I’m in my prime, and that will go towards my family and being a father. Thanks to the fans who stuck by me".
Dykstra made his WWE debut in 2005 as part of The Spirit Squad. Ultimately, the only breakout member of the group was Dolph Ziggler. The rest of the team was released soon after.
Kenny Dykstra briefly returned to WWE in 2016 and received rave reviews from fans for his return. However, he wasn't signed to a full-time deal by WWE and continued to perform on the independent circuit and MLW.
