The reason is exactly what you think it is. Oney Lorcan is a frustrated man and he has been that way for a very long time.

As reported by PWInsider's Mike Johnson, the Cruiserweight division talent reportedly asked for his release from the company.

Dave Meltzer shared more details on Lorcan's situation on the Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer revealed that Lorcan, who has been with WWE since 2015, has been not been happy with his position for quite a while.

Meltzer noted:

"Oney Lorcan I guess is wanting out. I don’t know the whole story on Oney Lorcan, the only thing I heard is that he has been very unhappy for a while, but look, I know a lot of guys who have been very unhappy for a while. Again, it’s the same thing I always say, I think he started in 2015 because I think he’s been there for a little over four years, so I don’t know what his contract situation is, but I don’t know, there are different schools of thought."

The past few months have been dominated with various talents wanting to quit the WWE due to varied reasons.

Luke Harper, Mike Kanellis, Sin Cara and Oney Lorcan are some of the names that instantly come to mind, however, the company, as we now know, isn't willing to let these Superstars out of their respective contracts.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that there were people backstage who have argued that the company should just allow some of the stars to leave as it otherwise ends up hurting backstage morale.

Meltzer had the following to say:

"There’s a school of thought that all these guys that want to leave are there that aren’t happy and they are really not, that it just kind of like hurts morale, and it’s just better to let them go. But they are not letting them go. I know people who have argued to let people go. But they are not letting them go still. So until they do, you know all these guys be quiet, it’s easy for me to say."
