#6. WWE futures of Kairi Sane and Asuka
The Kabuki Warriors are enjoying a very successful spell as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions while also being the top heels in the female division. However, WWE could be in danger of losing one-half of the tag team champions.
The contract statuses of Kairi Sane and Asuka were discussed on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio. The contracts of both Asuka and Kairi Sane are reportedly ending soon, and there is a lot of speculation going around regarding their future.
Dave Meltzer stated that he hasn't heard anything about Asuka leaving WWE and claimed that the Empress of Tomorrow is very happy with competing in the United States.
However, he did add that Kairi Sane could leave the company as the Pirate Princess has been 'exploring options outside WWE'
"I have heard no rumblings whatsoever of Asuka leaving, I’m under the impression that she is very happy in this country. Kairi, obviously we have talked about her. I could see her leaving. I mean I don’t know that she is going to leave but, you know, she has definitely expressed interest in exploring other options."
#7. Vince McMahon's reaction to the 'Big Dog' segment from SmackDown
Vince McMahon absolutely loved it. The boss loved it so much that he was reportedly 'howling' with laughter backstage while watching the segment, as revealed by WrestlingNews.co.
We aren't surprised. Vince McMahon is a big fan of segments in which the wrestlers are parodied and it was revealed in the report that writers come up with such segments to keep Vince happy.
Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co was told the following by a WWE source:
"Remember, the writers are trying to make Vince happy. If he’s happy then it means that jobs are safe. Vince has always been a fan of segments that parody his wrestlers. As long as Vince is around, you will always see segments like that one.”
It was also added that most people behind the scenes weren't too pleased with the segment, but the message will unsurprisingly not be conveyed to Vince.
Cringeworthy segments such as Baron Corbin's 'Big Dog' from the most recent episode of SmackDown are a norm in the Vince McMahon Era so don't expect it to change anytime soon.
