As announced on WWE Backstage, Samoa Joe will continue to remain a part of the RAW commentary team as the replacement of Dio Maddin. Maddin has been out of action ever since Brock Lesnar 'injured' him on an episode of RAW by F-5ing him through the table.
It is being reported by WrestlingNews.co that the company is not planning on bringing Maddin back for the commentary role and the Superstar would much rather rejoin WWE as a competitor.

It turns out that Maddin has not been at Raw as of late because he wants to continue wrestling. If you recall, he was brought up from NXT to the 205 Live broadcast team and then moved up to Raw at the request of Paul Heyman. So, the attack by Lesnar was a cover excuse to get him off Raw so he could go back to the Performance Center in Orlando.
Maddin has also tweeted that he wishes to 'retire' Brock Lesnar, giving a clear indication that he wishes to return not as an announcer but a Superstar.
