What’s the story?

The Authors of Pain have been off live television since Akam was injured back in January and Rezar was trying to go at it alone, alongside manager Drake Maverick. It seems that Akam is totally fit now and the former WWE RAW Tag-Team champions are all set to get back to action.

In case you didn’t know...

AOP had made their debut on Monday Nights from NXT back in April 2018 and had since then dominated the tag-team division. Seven months later, under the guidance of Maverick, they had been crowned the RAW tag-champions. They were a force to be reckoned with and were destined for great things, prior to this injury.

The injury cost Akam and Rezar their momentum and they eventually had to be taken off air.. And now, it seems the time for a second-run has come for the former NXT champs.

The heart of the matter...

John Pollock of Post Wrestling confirmed that the duo are fully fit and ready to go. Though they have been out of action, they are the kind of tag-team that Vince would really put his money on.

The SmackDown Tag Team titles have been just vacated this week on the Blue brand and it is still not clear who will be competing for the belts.

There are a lot of top tag-teams on SmackDown Live, but none can really stand up to the brutal force and strength that AOP possesses. The Land Of Opportunities may once again open up the doors for something big for these former champs, as they may now be propelled into another major push.

What's next?

With the Hardy Boyz recently relinquishing the SmackDown Live Tag-Team titles, this could be a great opportunity for the writers to given AOP a second push and this time, one that lasts.
