WWE Rumors: WWE officials are impressed with Jinder Mahal

Several WWE officials are impressed by Jinder Mahal

What’s the story?

On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran pro-wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer said that several WWE personalities backstage are applauding Jinder Mahal for the work he’s put in since returning to the WWE and his new, transformed physique.

In case you didn’t know...

Jinder Mahal shocked the pro-wrestling world when he emerged victorious in the 6-Pack Challenge against Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper, Sami Zayn and Mojo Rawley on the most recent episode of SmackDown, making him the number-1 contender for the WWE Championship that’s currently held by Randy Orton.

The heart of the matter:

Despite the bevvy of steroid accusations against Mahal, the WWE is reportedly pleased with his work ethic, as the Canadian-Indian is said to be taking his current run with the company very seriously and is working very hard in order to make sure that he earns the opportunities afforded to him by WWE.

What’s next?

With several reports emerging that the upcoming Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton House of Horrors match won’t be a title matchup, Mahal will likely face Orton at WWE Backlash on May 21st.

Author’s take:

I, for one, refrain from crucifying Mahal for his otherworldly, low-fat physical transformation, but with that being said, WWE management and Vince McMahon, in particular, are known to promote performers who fit the stereotypical body type that Mahal has currently grown into.

Although I don’t expect WWE to push the 30-year old all the way to the moon, I am truly intrigued to see where Jinder goes from this point onwards. Will he be a foreign phenomenon like Sheamus was, albeit in his earlier years, or will he go back to being a jobber? Stay tuned folks; things are getting real interesting.
