WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar is expected to work more pay-per-views this year

Lesnar is set to work more dates

What’s the story?

According to Cageside Seats, reigning WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar will be working more pay-per-views this year, especially if he holds the title until WrestleMania 34

In case you didn’t know...

In 2016, Brock Lesnar only worked 11 matches in the WWE, including the Royal Rumble. He faced Randy Orton on two occasions and also worked against Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper twice. Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, and Goldberg were the other superstars that faced The Beast in 2016.

Meanwhile, midway through 2017, Lesnar has already worked seven matches.

The heart of the matter

Cageside Seats are reporting that Brock Lesnar will work more dates this year, now that he is the Universal champion. If WWE plans to keep the title on Lesnar till WrestleMania 34, we can expect The Beast Incarnate to have more pay-per-view matches than usual, heading into the thirty-fourth edition of the Show of Shows.

What’s next?

Lesnar is still one of WWE’s biggest draws and putting his face on pay-per-view posters could smell money. The fans, meanwhile, will get to see some exciting matches involving the Beast.

The Raw Roster could provide a strong challenge for Lesnar with Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and a string of others being potential contenders.

Author’s take

The problem with Lesnar’s last title reign was his part-time schedule. The fans grew tired of the champion not showing up, and something similar was expected this time as well. However, this rumour suggests that we're going to have a different scenario.

If Lesnar is going to carry the title into WrestleMania 34, it is an absolute necessity that he runs through a string of challengers.

WWE should also think about building up Roman Reigns in parallel to Lesnar if the Big Dog is set to defeat The Beast.
