WWE Rumors : Former champion teases leaving company

What's the story?

Rusev, the former United States Champion, recently teased leaving the company on social media, while replying to a fan's tweet.

In case you didn't know

Rusev, along with his wife, Lana has been with the company for almost half a decade. He was pushed as a monster Russian heel with an undefeated streak, which lasted up to Wrestlemania 31, where John Cena beat him for the US Title.

Ever since then, Rusev hasn't really been the same. The WWE Creative hasn't really been kind to him, putting him in numerous hideous storylines. He has made his displeasure with the company known quite a few times. He recently got over as a face, with the 'Rusev Day' shtick really taking off, but WWE botched it too. In the end, he was turned heel abruptly and aligned with Shinsuke Nakamura.

The heart of the matter

A fan on Twitter, who'd attended this week's Smackdown Live! posted a video of Rusev and Nakamura beating up the faces. On this, Rusev replied that he might be seeing the last of him. You can see the tweet below.

While we are about 5 weeks away from Wrestlemania, there's a low chance that WWE have anything substantial for the talented bruiser. He, along with Shinsuke Nakamura might be put into the Andre the Giant Battle Royale, where most of the superstars without any direction usually work at the Grandest Stage of them All.

What's next?

While this is surprising news, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Rusev is a master of trolls. While he has been in trouble backstage before, this might just be an attempt to create some news. If he does leave, here's hoping that his vast talents and charisma get justice.
