WWE Rumors: Goldberg drops a massive hint on his WWE future

WWE Universal Champion, Goldberg

What’s the story?

Nostalgia has become a premier component of WrestleMania over the past few years. From the Undertaker continuing to wrestle into his fifties to the in-ring return of Shane McMahon, it seems like the history of yesteryear is well and truly a large part of WWE’s plans for the Showcase of the Immortals. What happens after WrestleMania, though?

More often than not, nostalgia goes by the wayside to focus on the current crop of full-time WWE Superstars. According to a report from comicbook.com, it seems as though that may be the case once again this year as it relates to current WWE Universal Champion, Goldberg.

In case you didn’t know...

Goldberg crashed back onto the WWE scene at Survivor Series 2016 when he decimated Brock Lesnar in shocking fashion. Since then, Goldberg has continued his tear throughout the rest of WWE. He made an emphatic statement at the 2017 Royal Rumble, when he eliminated Brock Lesnar, embarrassing the Beast Incarnate once again.

At WWE Fastlane, Goldberg captured the Universal Championship when he made short work of Kevin Owens. Overall, Goldberg has spent just a few seconds more than five minutes embroiled in in-ring competition, but the mark that he has left on the WWE Universe since his return has been unmistakable.

Goldberg heads into his WrestleMania clash with Brock Lesnar with momentum fully on his side, as he delivered a thunderous spear to Lesnar once again last night to close out Monday Night Raw.

The heart of the matter

In an Instagram post made just a few hours ago, Goldberg seemed to be reminiscing about his return to WWE as if WrestleMania might be the end of his run with the company. He said:

The most interesting portion of this post is Goldberg telling the fans that he will bring it to WrestleMania and go out on his sword.

What’s next?

Goldberg defends the WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania on April 2, 2017 .

Author’s Take

Goldberg’s words are those of a man who knows that his current run with the company is coming to an end on Sunday. Goldberg should be done with the company after WrestleMania and WWE should continue to focus on the next generation
