WWE Rumors: Gran Metalik has signed with WWE

The Mexican Cruiserweight may be headed to “The Big Leagues” full time

Gran Metalik (previously known as Máscara Dorada) appeared in the Cruiserweight Classic. He defeated Alejandro Saez from Chile in the first round and then proceeded to defeat veteran and former WWE superstar Tajiri in the second round to secure a spot in the third round. It seems WWE officials are high on the Luchador. According to Wrestling Inc, WWE recently applied the trademark for “Gran Metalik”. This would be an indication that they have signed him. It was rumored previously that WWE had signed the likes of Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik, among others. However, it appears that Kota Ibushi has not signed with WWE full time and intends to work both at Japan and NXT when needed. Even Zack Sabre Jr. has reportedly not signed with WWE yet as he wants to achieve certain goals outside the WWE before finally making the move. However, it seems to be all said and done that Metalik is now a WWE superstar. Metalik is a high-flyer in CMLL from 2005-16. This included four reigns with the CMLL World Welterweight Championship. He also competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling from 2010-16, which saw his contract run out in January. The two companies have close ties to each other.Metalik has done plenty in his first two matches to prove that he is worthy of a spot in Raw’s cruiserweight division, which is expected to be introduced in September after the Cruiserweight Classic. If this isn’t the case, there will definitely be a spot for Metalik at NXT, which has had many stars up called up since Wrestlemania 32 and the WWE draft. It is still not sure whether the cruiserweights being signed to WWE will be featured on NXT or on Raw’s cruiserweight division. However, Triple H, on a recent press conference call said that they are looking for them to perform on both platforms, which presents a tremendous opportunities for wrestlers such as Metalik to become major superstars on the big stage. It is being reported, as first by PWTorch.com that WWE has already issued for a Cruiserweight Championship. However, it is still not known whether it will be introduced as the prize for winning the Cruiserweight Classic, or whether it will be introduced after the competition on Raw or a Raw pay-per-view.Would you like to see the Mexican sensation in WWE?
