WWE Rumours: James Ellsworth appearing on Smackdown Live tonight?

Guess who’s back?

James Ellsworth has made four appearances for WWE so far. What is surprising about it all, is the fact that he was meant to be nothing more than a one-off enhancement talent. But just with his look and a few lines, he ended up getting extremely over and becoming the subject of several memes online and WWE decided to cap in on his popularity.

As reported yesterday by PWInsider, there have been talks, within the company, about giving him a full-time contract especially due to his strong merchandise sales recently, which have shockingly been higher than even the likes of Goldberg and Roman Reigns.

AllWrestlingNews reported that Ellsworth is being booked for tonight’s edition of Smackdown Live in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

They reported that there is a chance he may get involved in the Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles main event, and if he costs the WWE World Champion AJ Styles the match, then Dean Ambrose once again becomes the #1 contender for the WWE World Championship.

It will be interesting to see what Ellsworth’s role will be, but when someone sells high merchandise, the company gets behind them. Ellsworth himself told Eric Bischoff on his podcast, Bischoff On Wrestling, that the most overwhelming experience about all of this is Vince McMahon’s incredible response and reception to him.

He said that it means the world to him coming from the top man in the entire business.

There were also rumours whirling around the past week or so that there were talks of giving Ellsworth a spot in the Royal Rumble match. There is no doubt that he would get a great reception in the Royal Rumble with an estimated 66,000+ in attendance this time for the grand event at the Alamodome.

Here is a mid-match interview from last week in the biggest match of his life:
