WWE Rumors: Lucha Underground offers Prince Puma big money to stay

Prince Puma is one of the best flyers in wrestling today

This summer, for the very first time, WWE will be organising a tournament to determine the best Cruiserweight wrestler in the world. Named the Global Cruiserweight Series, this WWE Network exclusive tournament will start airing from July 13.

The qualifying matches for the tournament will be contested from May. Wrestlers already announced for the Cruiserweight series are Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa, Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, Noam Dar, Zack Sabre Jr., and Ho Ho Lun.

Another internationally reputed wrestler, Ricochet is rumored to be a part of the tournament. Ricochet is a former IWGP Junior Tag team Champion with Matt Sydal. He is also in contract with Lucha Underground, where he wrestles under the Prince Puma gimmick, and was the first Lucha Underground Heavyweight Champion. It was reported that his contract with them may prevent him from being a part of this tournament.

Apparently Lucha Underground offered Prince Puma a big sum of money to stay, but many believe he will leave for WWE anyway. Cagesideseats.com also reports that there are some issues within Lucha Underground with wrestlers complaining about management. It seems they are forcing wrestlers to work too much during scheduled tapings.
