Ronda Rousey will remain Champion at Elimination Chamber
Ronda Rousey will remain Champion at Elimination Chamber

What's the story?

We are only a week removed from Elimination Chamber 2019. Cageside Seats has posted a massive spoiler as we head into the big event.

No titles will change hands at the show on the road to WrestleMania. Of course, this does not include the Women's Tag Team Champions who will be crowned on the show.

In case you didn't know...

Two Elimination Chamber matches will be happening at the pay-per-view event. The first will see 6 men compete for the WWE Championship while the second will see the first Women's Tag Team Champions of the modern era crowned.

Ronda Rousey will also defend her RAW Women's Championship against the leader of the Riott Squad- Ruby Riott in a singles match. Buddy Murphy will defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa as well.

There's a lot of speculation about a Lashley vs. Balor Intercontinental Championship doing the rounds too.

The heart of the matter

It's actually quite obvious if you think about it. Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is the hot program as we head into WrestleMania 35 and it will not make sense to have Ruby Riott become the RAW Women's Champion.

Daniel Bryan has been doing a fantastic job as the WWE Champion and it doesn't make sense to switch titles so soon after he introduced the special eco-friendly Championship. Neither does it make sense to have Tozawa become Cruiserweight Champion when Murphy is clearly the Superstar with more buzz about him.

The only title change that potentially makes sense is Balor defeating Lashley if the match is potentially booked.

What's next?

There's one RAW and one SmackDown Live to go before Elimination Chamber. Expect more matches to be confirmed during the show. The card seems a little underwhelming currently.
