A trusted Reddit user posted a report on the new version of the WWE Tag Team belts that could be coming to TV soon. According to the source, the belt will now have removable side plates just like the main belts, which would certainly help in merchandise sales and can accommodate customized side plates of the holders.
In case you didn’t know...
Since the WWE roster was split into two halves last year – namely the two live shows RAW and SmackDown LIVE! – there have been two Tag Team Championship belts, one for each brand.

The heart of the matter:
Reddit user u/dvizzle, who has been known to leak reliable information in the past, just released what he has confirmed as the new Tag Team Belts for RAW. It looks to be very similar to the SmackDown Tag Team Belts that were revealed last summer and had silver plates instead of copper and the belt was changed to include blue straps.
WWE’s World titles all have removable side plates, the replicas of which are sold in the WWE Shop. With Hardys as Champions, WWE would look to sell a lot of replicas and the change could be made in the coming weeks.
What’s next?
The Hardy Boyz are currently scheduled to face Cesaro and Sheamus at Payback whilst the challengers to Usos’ SmackDown titles are yet to be determined.

The basic premise of the change is to push the sales on the WWE Shop and to make the belt look cooler. The custom side plates on the WWE Championship and the Women’s title look pretty good and add some novelty whenever a new champion is crowned. Thus, this is a good move to make the belts looks more appealing.
