WWE Rumors: Possible reason as to why this week's episode of 205 Live got canceled
It was reported earlier that WWE have canceled this week's episode of 205 Live and announced that in its stead, they will show a rerun of this week's episode of NXT on the WWE Network immediately following SmackDown. However, no such reason was given for the cancellation of the episode.
The news of the cancellation was mostly met with negative responses from sections of the WWE Universe. Even NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush took to Twitter to voice his opinion by saying that "the Cruiserweight division deserves better."
Now according to Ryan Satin's sources, it has come to light that this week's WWE 205 Live was canceled because of the large D-Generation X style NXT invasion angle that followed at the end of SmackDown led by Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Road Dogg and there is no jeopardy of the show getting canceled permanently.
The NXT invasion
After the main event of SmackDown was over, Superstars from RAW led by Survivor Series team captain Seth Rollins came through the crowd and stormed the ring. Rollins immediately started trading blows with SmackDown's team captain for Survivor Series Roman Reigns. Soon after, the camera panned to the backstage area and showed Superstars from NXT led by DX who were on a jeep coming towards the ring. Even Lio Rush who voiced his displeasure on Twitter was seen seated on the hood of the jeep.
From then onwards, absolute pandemonium ensued as Superstars from the three brands traded blows with each other which continued even after SmackDown went off the air.
In all the hype for Survivor Series that will include WWE NXT for the first time, some sections of the WWE Universe feel that 205 Live is getting left out and have even opined that 205 Live should be moved to Full Sail University - the home area of NXT.
