What's the story?

Last night on Raw, Alexa Bliss was rudely interrupted backstage as she prepared for 'A Moment of Bliss' in what was considered an awkward angle that threw WWE back to The Attitude Era.

In case you didn't know...

Alexa Bliss hasn't wrestled on WWE TV since Hell in a Cell and has instead been given her very own talk show, which allows her to remain on TV whilst working to be cleared by the company in the background.

WWE has been pushing the Women's Division forward over the past few years, which has given women all over the world the hope that one day the women will be treated the same way as the men in the wrestling business, but this segment was seen as a step backward by many fans.

The heart of the matter

Last night on Raw, Alexa Bliss was interrupted backstage and she appeared to be in the middle of getting changed and not impressed by the fact that a member of the production team had wandered in.

Dave Meltzer explained in the most recent episode of The Wrestling Observer that this was WWE's way of testing the waters in the new era to see how much they could get away with. This is reportedly the reason for the recent storyline between Naomi and Mandy Rose on SmackDown Live as well.

“So the idea is they want to bring back this idea of God only knows what. It’s like old time, old time stuff. It’s like whatever, that stuff’s on regular TV shows all the time too. It was an attempt to do something that was very awkward in execution, but it was an attempt to make things sexy. That’s all that was," he said via Ringsidenews.

What's next?

WWE's New Era has officially begun and it appears that the company are set to continue to push the boundaries when it comes to what they now deem acceptable.
