Why did Lacey Evans make such a strange cameo on RAW?
Why did Lacey Evans make such a strange cameo on RAW?

What's the story?

We've known that 6 talents from NXT were being called up to the main roster after the McMahon regime assumed control. We saw the first glimpse of all the superstars, sans Lars Sullivan, on this week's episode of RAW and SmackDown Live.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer elaborated upon the reason why these WWE superstars were only in the background for the two shows. I'd like to thank NoDQ for the update.

In case you didn't know...

We've known that Lars Sullivan has been battling with mental issues for a while now and therefore, could not make his main roster debut yet. Nikki Cross had a showcase match on RAW this week, where she teamed up with Bayley and Natalya.

We saw Lacey Evans in the background on RAW and again on SmackDown Live, watching the proceedings. EC3 was pictured outside Vince McMahon's cabin as well. Heavy Machinery interrupted 'A Moment of Bliss' and then went on to enjoy a cameo with The New Day.

The heart of the matter

Dave Meltzer revealed why these men and women were pictured in such strange segments this week. The truth is that WWE does not yet have a plan for these NXT talents:

They haven’t decided how to use them or on what show, but he wants people seeing them and feels what matters is when they come up with the plan how to use them and people will forget this, but they’ll know who they are, with the idea the majority of his fans don’t know who they are.

So, in a nutshell, this must be a way for the WWE Universe to get to know these new WWE superstars. They will make their debuts once the fans are familiar with them.

What's next?

Be ready for these men and women to make their in-ring debuts in the weeks that follow, on RAW or SmackDown Live.

Where should each one of the call-ups go? Let us know in the comments.
