What’s the story?
As reported by F4WOnline, the WWE is planning to have Bayley defend her Raw Women’s Championship in a match involving multiple female Superstars from the show’s roster at the Payback pay-per-view.
In case you didn’t know…
On last week’s episode of Raw, Sasha Banks called Raw Women’s Champion Bayley out to the ring so that she could congratulate her for successfully defending her title at WrestleMania 33. Just as Banks was about to challenge the champ to a title match, Raw’s latest acquisition Alexa Bliss cut her short and started to speak about what she intends to do on the show.
Mickie James, who has also been drafted to Raw as part of the Superstar Shakeup, interrupted Bliss and told her that her nightmare had just begun. Nia Jax got involved as she attacked James from behind and also laid her hands on Sasha Banks and Bayley. ‘The Wicked Witch of WWE’ turned out to be the only woman whom Jax spared.
The heart of the matter
The Raw Women’s Championship match at Payback is most likely to be a four-way match involving Bayley, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax. However, there is also talk of adding veteran Superstar Mickie James to the mix and make it a five-way encounter.
Bayley faced a similar situation at WrestleMania 33, too, as she put her title on the line in a fatal four-way elimination match against Banks, Nia and Charlotte Flair. To her credit, though, she emerged victorious and is still the Raw Women’s Champion.
What next?
The Payback pay-per-view takes place on Sunday, 30 April at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The next episode of Raw may give us a clearer picture about the kind of match we will witness at the PPV for the Raw Women’s title.

Although Bayley may have been emerged victorious at WrestleMania 33, the situation only gets harder for her going into Payback. While she can take some solace from the fact that Charlotte Flair is not on Raw anymore, the addition of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James can certainly give ‘The Huggable One’ some headaches.
