What's the story?

As per Cagesiseseats.com, Terez Owens has published that Ronda Rousey may have told WWE that she will not re-sign with the company if they bring Cris Cyborg in.

In case you didn't know...

Ronda Rousey is a former champion in UFC and the current RAW Women's Champion and is embroiled in a feud with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. While she is pegged for the main event match at Wrestlemania against Charlotte Flair as of now, she will be defending her championship this Sunday at Elimination Chamber against Ruby Riott as well.

Cris Cyborg is a former UFC Women's featherweight champion. She was recently seen at the WWE Performance Center giving rise to speculation that she may be joining WWE soon. However, these rumours have not been confirmed by her or WWE at this point.

The heart of the matter

Here is what she had to say when asked by MMA fighting about her visit to the WWE's training facility:

I was doing testimony at the church and I visited the place. Because a lot of people have said, ‘Oh, you need to fight Ronda, you need to fight Ronda’…I think it would help a lot to grow the sport.

While it will be interesting to see another UFC stalwart joining WWE, for some reason, it looks like Ronda Rousey may not be comfortable with that idea.

It has also been rumoured that AEW has expressed interest in signing Cyborg, so if the WWE passes this opportunity it might end up being AEW's gain.

What's next?

Elimination Chamber will take place on February 17, 2019, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and Ronda Rousey will face Ruby Riott for the RAW Women's Championship. It is highly unlikely that The Baddest Woman on The Planet will lose her belt on this occasion though.
