Don't believe everything you read online, folks

What's the story?

Sasha Banks recently announced that she was pulling out of a public appearance on Wendy William's show due to personal reasons. Around the same time a rumor was going around that the former WWE Women's Tag-Team Champion had a meltdown backstage before the Raw after WrestleMania? Is this true?

In case you didn't know...

Sasha Banks and Bayley, the first ever WWE Women's Tag-Team Champions lost their titles at WrestleMania 35 to the IIconics in perhaps one of the more shocking results of the night. The next day on RAW Bayley took on a returning Alexa Bliss in a losing effort, but Banks was nowhere to be seen.

Banks then posted on Twitter the following tweet explaining that she was pulling out of a public appearance on the Wendy Williams show.

The heart of the matter

Around the same time an un-sourced screengrab of a paragraph stated doing the rounds on social media, the paragraph was cropped to look like it had been taken from an article someone had written.

The paragrah claimed to be reporting on the fact that Sasha Banks had a meltdown backstage after finding out her and Bayley were supposed to lose a handicap match to Alexa Bliss. Here it is,

Uncredited report on Sasha Banks
Uncredited report on Sasha Banks

Usually I'd ignore something like this, but I'm seeing lots and lots of people retweeting it on Twitter and discussing it elsewhere like this is a legitimate website reporting a news story from a legitimate source.

But here's the thing. No-one knows where this paragraph originally came from and who wrote it. No-one can fine any current wrestling website that has ran this story, and when you google search the whole text or sentences, literally nothing comes up.

What's next?

For this reason I urge you to disregard this 'report' entirely, it seems like nothing more than someone who has orchestrated a post to make it look like a legitimate news story to take advantage of the fact that Banks pulled out of a public appearance.
