WWE Rumors: The New Day to lose Tag Team Championships soon

Is the historic tag team championship reign finally coming to an end?

The New Day went through overwhelming obstacles for 479 days to become the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history, surpassing Demolition’s 478-day title reign. According to Cage Side Seats, now that The New day has broken Demolition’s record, it can be expected for the trio to lose their Championship very soon.

The New Day could drop their titles as soon as this Sunday at Roadblock: End Of The Line, when they face Sheamus & Cesaro for the Raw Tag Team Championship. They have faced the duo on two occasions. First in Hell In A Cell, and second a few weeks ago on Raw.

Cesaro & Sheamus have been riding a wave of momentum, since their pairing at the end of September.

The duo were even the sole survivors in the Survivor Series 10-man tag team match, where they represented Raw. They had The New Day beat on both occasions that they faced them, but thanks to The New Day’s antics, the Champions got away with it. Watch the teams go at each other on Raw on November 21st:

It was initially expected that The New Day would drop the titles to Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (The Club) at Summerslam after they hit the one-year mark. However, after they held on to the gold, it was then expected that they would then drop the titles to The Club at Clash Of Champions, but they did not.

The night after Clash of Champions, they once again defended the Tag Team Championships against The Club on Raw. It was believed that they would drop the titles as they hit the 400 mark. Only once they crossed this, and WWE began acknowledging Demolition’s title reign, did it become clear that the promotion intended to have the trio break the record.

Perhaps, The New Day’s biggest obstacle was in the latest edition of Raw, where they had two title defences to start and end the night. They closed the night by defeating two elite teams to secure their record:
