WWE Rumors: Top NXT star to be called up to main roster during next week's 'Superstar Shakeup'

What's the story?

We've already had so many NXT call-ups over the last couple of months, but it seems that WWE have got another main roster debut planned for one of NXT's biggest Superstars, Kairi Sane. The debut is set to take place during next week's two-night event, the Superstar Shakeup.

In case you didn't know...

Kairi Sane is the winner of WWE's first Mae Young Classic beating Shayna Baszler in the final. She would go on to become WWE NXT Women's Champion beating Baszler again for the title. However, she'd only hold on to the title for 71 days until Baszler won it back.

Recently Sane has been in a tag-team with fellow Joshi star Io Shirai and they've quickly become one of WWE's more popular tag-teams, male or female, with the team name 'Sky Pirates'.

Sane and Shirai were involved in the NXT Women's Title match at NXT TakeOver: New York, with both women competing in a Fatal Fourway match alongside, then and still champion, Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair.

The heart of the matter

Many people have been wondering when Kairi Sane would get called up the main roster, and whether or not it'll be as half of the 'Sky Pirates' with Io Shirai. Whilst we cannot answer the latter, the former has been reported on by Slice Wrestling, who has suggested Sane will be on the main roster sooner than we think.

As is always the case with Slice Wrestling, take this news with a hefty grain of hearty-sea-salt. That being said there's certainly no denying that Sane being called up to the main roster isn't outside the realms of possibility.

What's next?

At the moment this is all we have to go on. We'll have to wait and see if it actually happens first and then we can start discussing whether or not Sane will end up on Monday Night RAW or SmackDown Live.
