WWE Rumors: Update on the Superstars switching brands in the "Superstar Shake-Up"

Vince McMahon announced a “Superstar Shake-Up” on the RAW after WrestleMania

What’s the story?

According to F4Wonline.com, some of the changes expected to happen in the Superstar shake-up are AJ Styles to RAW, New Day to SmackDown Live, while Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair seem to be locked to exchange spots. Sasha Banks could also possibly switch over to the blue brand, as this has been heavily discussed.

The fate of Roman Reigns, however, still remains undecided.

In case you didn’t know...

The WWE Superstar Shake-up will take place on both RAW and SmackDown Live. It is not a draft, as WWE has specifically avoided terming it as such. It seems to be more about freshening up things and having a few exchanges on a smaller level.

Vince McMahon announced the Superstar shake-up on the RAW after WrestleMania.

The heart of the matter

The issue with Roman Reigns moving to SmackDown Live is that he is currently scheduled to face Braun Strowman in the main event of Payback, possibly in a Universal Championship #1 contender’s match, according to the Wrestling Observer.

On the other hand, if The New Day were to move to SmackDown Live they will become the top team in the blue brand’s tag team division and also have fresh opponents to square off against. AJ Styles seems to nearly certain to be moving to the red brand, which will see him reunited with Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson while also putting him on the same brand as Finn Balor.

As mentioned, it’s almost certain that Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will switch brands, and there have reportedly been serious discussions about moving The Boss Sasha Banks over to SmackDown Live.

What’s next?

The Superstar Shake-Up is next, beginning on RAW on Monday Night. It will be interesting to see which Superstars switch sides from blue to red and vice versa.

Author’s take

While a shake-up is good, it is best if AJ Styles stays on SmackDown Live. He has been the heart and soul of the blue brand since the brand split, and to take away arguably the best part of SmackDown Live would be a huge hit to the brand.

If he is to go, WWE needs to trade in Seth Rollins and/or Sami Zayn. WWE constantly teases Sami moving to SmackDown Live, but never pull through. Overall, the shake-up should be interesting and be a huge refresh for WWE after WrestleMania
