The universal hatred towards the ongoing storyline involving Lana, Rusev and Bobby Lashley shouldn't surprise anyone. It's a train wreck of an angle that keeps dragging on with each passing week. It should also not come as a surprise that Vince McMahon loves the storyline.
A report from WrestlingNews.co revealed that Vince McMahon loved the segment from this past week's RAW which featured the arrests of Lana and Lashley.
The angle was given a stamp of approval a few days before the show and no changes were made to the script.
A WWE source told WrestlingNews that Vince McMahon loves the angle and the company will continue to push it until the people stop caring about it. WWE is satisfied with the segments pulling numbers that are above average.
The report also states the angle is being viewed as a car wreck, in the sense that a car wreck never fails in drawing attention.
McMahon believes that while the angle makes the fans cringe, they will continue to watch how it unfolds on TV. Vince McMahon also rereportedly thinks that Lana is currently generating real heat and not the 'go-away' kind.
Additionally, Rusev has been praised for the work he's put into making the storyline somewhat tolerable for the fans. The 'Bulgarian Brute' has received great reactions in recent weeks on TV and that is one of the positive takeaways from the feud.
Lana recently signed a new multi-year deal with WWE and Rusev is also expected to do the same, even though he hasn't committed to a new deal as of last week. The plan is to make Rusev look good on TV which would convince him to sign on the dotted line of a renewed WWE contract.
Rusev and Lashley are rumored to have their first proper match in the feud at the upcoming TLC PPV but WWE may not be done with the feud even after the grudge match.
