WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon called up recent NXT Superstars WITHOUT Triple H's knowledge

What is going on with these recent NXT main roster call-ups?
What is going on with these recent NXT main roster call-ups?

What's the story?

It is being alleged by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the recent decision to call-up four of WWE NXT's top Superstars to the main roster in the run-up to WrestleMania was done without Triple H's involvement.

In case you didn't know...

Four of NXT's top stars over the last year or so, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Aleister Black and Ricochet were called-up to the main roster this week, appearing on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live.

Johnny Gargano teamed with Tommaso Ciampa both nights, taking on The Revival and The Bar, whilst Aleister Black faced Elias and Andrade, and Ricochet teamed with Finn Balor to take on Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley and then faced Eric Young.

All four NXT stars remain undefeated on the main roster so far, with the belief being that they are being booked strong to see if they can become top stars.

The heart of the matter

However, there's a very interesting story going on behind the scenes regarding these sudden and unexpected call-ups, and that seems to be that Triple H, who oversees NXT, did not know about Vince McMahon's plans to bring Gargano, Black, Ciampa and Ricochet to the main roster beforehand, as suggested by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"Triple H didn't know. There was a communication thing there. So he just wanted those four guys. I'm not sure whether he picked them or he was told that 'these are the guys'

With NXT tapings happening this week and clear plans for Ciampa, Gargano, Ricochet and Black to feature in NXT until at least the next TakeOver, it's interesting that Vince McMahon would make this decision without consulting Triple H, and potentially force him to have to change his NXT plans.

What's Next?

It seems that we're going to be seeing these four Superstars appearing across Raw, SmackDown and NXT for quite some time, with the expectation that they will continue to get pushed heavily
