WWE Rumors: What Bruce Prichard's signing means for the futures of Vince McMahon and Triple H

WrestleZone is reporting via Pro Wrestling Torch's Bruce Mitchell that 'there might be more behind the signing of Bruce Prichard regarding control of the WWE.

In case you missed it...

Bruce Prichard was the on-screen character of Brother Love back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He has been a backstage presence in WWE and more recently Impact Wrestling.

He has recently spent a good deal of his time working on his podcast, Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, and was signed by WWE last week for a big backstage creative role.

The heart of the matter

The report from WrestleZone mentioned how Prichard's signing might 'be indicative of Vince McMahon further positioning himself as the man in power while Triple H will continue to wait to be the successor.

'I mean he’s [Triple H] been aiming towards taking over this company for years now and this is more Vince McMahon just saying “give me the top four guys off of NXT right now,” I mean it’s indicative of something'.

Prichard is seen as more of a mind from the previous generation like Mr. McMahon and that he might tend to favor McMahon's ideas more than Triple H's.

"I mean it’s indicative of something and McMahon bringing back Bruce Prichard, who is seen as a problem of the new generation, to have a major role in WWE creative after all this time, that’s indicative of something. That’s indicative of Vince McMahon just staying there."

They also discussed that it may have been time for a change in power a few years ago rather than currently. This may be why there have been some problems with ratings lately and talent wanting to leave.

"Triple H isn’t getting any younger and maybe a year or two before this was a time for a regime change, creatively and at the top of the company and it’s not happening, and when you don’t make that change, the bad habits get worse."

What's next?

It all starts at the top, and if Vince McMahon is continuing to position himself as 'the man in charge', he's more than allowed to do so.

But what he may not realize that his ways of thinking are likely outdated and that Triple H may indeed know how to book the current landscape of pro wrestling.

Things that might have worked 15-20 years ago don't work today with the improvement of the sport, business and technology and it is high time Vince McMahon accepts that.
