According to reports from Cageside Seats, the WWE is interested in bringing in up-and-coming wrestlers, namely Crazzy Steve, Gunner, Lio Rush, Donovan Dijak and Kyle O’Reilly. The rumours suggest that all of these wrestlers will be joining the promotion within the next few months.

All of the wrestlers have made names for themselves on various other promotions and on the independent circuit.

In case you didn’t know...

Rumours regarding the potential prospect of these wrestlers signing for the WWE have been moving around in the rumour mill for the past few months. The wrestlers who are said to be joining the promotion are all wrestlers with great talent and it isn’t much of a surprise that the WWE is interested in them.

For those of you who don’t know, Crazzy Steve and Gunner are both well known for their time on TNA and have both been TNA tag team champs on separate occasions. Crazzy Steve was even trained by Eric Young who is the leader of the Sanity stable on NXT.

The heart of the matter

It has been known for some time now that the WWE has been interested in bringing in new talent and reports surfacing from Cageside Seats suggests that the franchise is looking into the potential of wrestlers like Crazzy Steve, Gunner, Lio Rush, Donovan Dijak and Kyle O’Reilly.

Of the aforementioned wrestlers, two of them are seasoned performers, Crazzy Steve and Gunner, both of who have performed for TNA.

Crazzy Steve is a Canadian professional wrestler who is currently doing indy bookings. However, rumour has it that of all the wrestlers that the WWE are looking into, Steve is the closest to joining the franchise. Steve is best known for his time with the TNA, where he was a one-time TNA Tag Team Champion.

Gunner is another wrestler who may be coming over from the independent circuits after an impressive display over at TNA. Gunner was quite successful during his time with the franchise and was a one-time TNA Television Champion and a one-time TNA Tag Team Champion with James Storm. He is also the winner of the TNA World Cup 2015, which he won as part of Jeff Hardy’s team.

Lio Rush, Donovan Dijak and Kyle O’Reilly are all wrestlers who are best known for their time with Ring Of Honor. Both Rush and Dijak are making a name for themselves within the independent circuit, whereas O’Reilly recently saw out his contract with NJPW. All three of these wrestlers are young and extremely talented.

All in all, it will be interesting and exciting to see what the WWE may plan to do with these wrestlers.

What’s next?

The question on most of the fans’ minds is what the WWE plan on doing with these wrestlers. Will they be put into NXT or will they make the main roster debut?

One wrestler who could skip the pleasantries of the NXT is Crazzy Steve. Steve is a seasoned wrestler with loads of experience. In fact, rumours surfacing from Forbes suggests that Steve could make a debut on Monday night RAW and potentially start a rivalry with Matt and Jeff Hardy, two wrestlers whom he knows from his time in TNA.

However, while Crazzy Steve may be in line for a debut on the red brand, the other wrestlers may find themselves in the WWE’s developmental promotion NXT.

Author’s take

This move by the WWE is completely understandable and quite brilliant. All of the wrestlers that the WWE is looking into have, made their mark either at various different promotions or on the independent circuit. It is needless to say that these wrestlers will be able to rejuvenate and bring in a fresh attitude to the WWE roster.

It will be very exciting to see these wrestlers in action over the next couple of years.
