WWE Rumours: Former WWE diva and current TNA star, Maria Kanellis, wants to quit wrestling
Maria is a former WWE Slammy Award winner for Diva of the Year.
TNA Knockouts star, Maria Kanellis, who also used to be a WWE diva, has revealed her intention to leave the wrestling business. In a series of tweets posted by her recently, Maria made it quite apparent that she wants to pursue further studies and is looking to make some drastic changes in her life.
Although the former WWE Diva of the Year did not make it very clear as to when she would take the step or her reason behind her decision, she did drop a hint that it is coming soon. Here’s what she tweeted:
News, any news doesn't ever tell the whole story. It will be an interesting next couple months. What I know is I am leaving wrestling soon.— MariaKanellisBennett (@MariaLKanellis) 1 November 2016
I'm not exactly sure when but that's why I went back to school. I am done in May with my bachelors. And then, I'm on to my masters degree.— MariaKanellisBennett (@MariaLKanellis) 1 November 2016
Eventually everyone must realize that the road never changes until you change roads.— MariaKanellisBennett (@MariaLKanellis) 1 November 2016
There are chances that the recent court ruling which rejected Billy Corgan’s request for a temporary injunction against TNA may be one of the reasons behind Maria’s intention to quit.
While she has not reacted to this situation within the TNA, her husband Mike Bennett is one of the superstars who did voice his opinion by tweeting, “Well, back to bad business as usual.”
Welp, back to bad business as usual— Mike Bennett (@RealMikeBennett) 31 October 2016
However, it will be interesting to see if Maria Kanellis actually sticks to her decision and moves on from wrestling in the months to come.
