WWE Rumours: Real reason behind Sara Lee's release revealed

Tough Enough winner Sara Lee

Last week, it was reported that the winner of the female Tough Enough was released from her developmental contract with the WWE. The contract was a $250,000 contract. While it was initially believed that it was due to the fact that she announced on Facebook that she was pregnant with boyfriend Wesley Blake, it appears that that was not the case.

PWInsider reports that the true reason she was let go was not due to her pregnancy but simply because of the fact that she was not progressing in the ring. This just further proves the “curse” of Tough Enough. It appears that the only people who have ever made a successful career from Tough Enough are John Morrison and now-Former Intercontinental Champion The Miz.

From last year, Daria, who got knocked out of the show earlier has already made her televised debut and has been making house shows. Mandy Rose, the runner-up of the female edition of Tough Enough too has a couple of appearances on NXT to her name, even establishing a “Golden Goddess” gimmick, and even attaining praise from fans who initially compared her to Eva Marie in terms of in-ring skills.

In the male edition, the winner of Tough Enough, Joshua Bredl, who goes under the ring name Bronson Matthews has yet to make his televised debut. Runner-up Zamairah “ZZ” Loupe was released a couple of months back from his developmental contract.

Patrick Clark, however, has made a few televised appearances. At first, he went under a Patriotic American gimmick, while now he seems to be doing a flamboyant prince gimmick. Many fans believed that Patrick Clark was the deserving winner of Tough Enough, as he was the only one who showcased a genuine passion towards pro wrestling. It looks like it eventually paid off as he seems to be doing better than his fellow-Tough Enough competitors who reached even further than him.

It was initially believed that Sara Lee had asked for her release due to her pregnancy, but from the looks of it, the two incidents, her pregnancy and her release just happened to coincide. Her boyfriend Wesley Blake is currently in singles competition. He has been doing an on-off storyline with former tag team partner Buddy Murphy. Their former manager Alexa Bliss has moved up to Smackdown Live and is the number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
