WWE Rumours: The Authority set to return on next week's Raw

Is the brand split coming?

WWE is looking to start next week’s Raw in a big way. Cagesideseats.com reports that The Authority would probably return on next week’s Raw and confront Shane, setting up a feud that would spell the end of “The Authority” gimmick atleast for some time. This could also mean that the long awaited brand split will happen at last.

Earlier this year when Shane McMahon returned to WWE Raw in the lead up to WrestleMania, him and Triple H were kept apart in storyline even though Shane’s victory over The Undertaker would mean Triple H and Stephanie would be out of power.

At the time, many speculated this was so that they could feud later in the year for control of WWE which would eventually lead to a full brand split, with a split roster and all. For years, rumours of a tense relationship between WWE’s resident power couple and Shane McMahon have been circling and with the reality era on in full swing, its getting a little hard to distinguish between what’s real and what’s kayfabe.

The main problem with any Shane McMahon related storyline right now is, if he was going to take over Raw anyway, why didn’t he just beat The Undertaker. That would have given him a concrete reason to take over Raw instead of this flimsy ‘outcry of support on social media’ angle WWE are playing at.
