WWE Rumours: Bill Goldberg getting closer to a WWE return

The speculations are getting stronger by the day!

Ever since his affiliation with the WWE 2K17 video game, fans have been wondering when Bill Goldberg will show up again in the WWE. Interviews from Goldberg around SummerSlam did not do much to hone in on a definite appearance, but it did cause a great deal of speculation that Goldberg will return either at the SummerSlam event, or the following night on Raw. The result – neither happened, and the rumors seemed to subside.

However, not only have they resurfaced, but they appear to be stronger than ever. TMZ recently reported that Goldberg is currently in negotiations for an in-ring return to the company he once spoke negatively about, and an appearance by the former World Heavyweight Champion is likely to happen.

It has been over twelve years since Goldberg has been in a WWE ring, and his last appearance is something that he would surely like to forget. While the stage was set for a hard-hitting match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX, both showed their worst pay per view matches while working for the WWE, garnering heated responses from the crowd at Madison Square Garden due to their glaring showcase of laziness.

The saving grace of that match was Stone Cold Steve Austin executing a Stone Cold Stunner to both participants, giving them a parting gift on the way out. Goldberg has been very vocal about his dissatisfaction with WWE management, criticizing the business acumen during his time with the company.

However, it looks as if time is healing the wounds and Goldberg – who turns 50 this year – will call WWE home once again. In a recent interview to promote WWE 2K17, Goldberg stated that he would entertain a return, and “life’s too short to dwell on past differences”. This is a drastic change in tone from previous interviews about his former employer.

Although Goldberg is a few months from 50, his appearance is something that he continues to take pride in, always being ready for a return. Now, he is realizing that the time is ticking on his ability to enter a WWE ring and deliver a great performance for the fans, so the willingness to bury any hatchet between him and WWE has become more important than ever.

There are a number of superstars who could benefit from a feud with Goldberg, as well as matches we have yet to see that would be box office attractions. If these reported talks pan out in the favor of many fans, we just may see him back for one last run.
