WWE Rumours: Sasha Banks vs Bayley in the works for WrestleMania 33

Sasha and Bayley stole the show at Battleground

The biggest disappointment coming out of the WWE draft has to be the fact that NXT superstar Bayley was not drafted to either brand.

Bayley is arguably the most loved babyface in the women’s division in WWE. This was evident by the pop she received when she made her main roster debut at Battleground as Sasha Bank’s partner. The duo took on Charlotte and Dana Brooke to open the pay-per-view and ended with up with a win.

If rumors are to be believed, it seems that WWE officials are already laying out the groundwork for a feud between Sasha Banks and Bayley. The rumored plans are to have Bayley vs. Sasha Banks at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando in a big match that could even surpass their historic match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.

Bayley is expected to become a part of the main roster shortly after SummerSlam or in the fall. So when Wrestlemania season rolls in, it is expected that a babyface Bayley will take on a heel Sasha for the biggest prize in the women’s division.

The duo put women’s wrestling on the map with their match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn

A big question, however, is how the creative will work for the feud. Banks vs. Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship in Orlando is a dream scenario considering the history the two have together. WWE officials are probably too tempted by the idea of the match to pass it up, but how will it affect WWE programming over the next several months?

The Boss just won the WWE Women’s Championship, and the fact that WWE officials already planning this match means that she’ll still be holding the title when Wrestlemania comes knocking.

Wrestlemania 33 is scheduled to take place in Orlando on 2 April 2016 at the Camping World Stadium.

The women’s roster on Raw is stacked while women’s roster on SmackDown doesn’t have as many established big stars. Sasha Banks is on Raw, so if Bayley is added to Raw whenever she finally makes the full transition to the main roster, it could make SmackDown’s division look much weaker than it is, compared to Raw.

A number of issues need to be addressed such as how WWE will be able to pull off this match if it actually becomes a reality. The biggest issue is that Summerslam is still over a week away, and it’s far too early to know what WWE is planning for the grandest stage of them all next year. However, Sasha and Bayley are sure to steal the show if the match sneaks its way onto the card.
